How Old Is Too Old for Breast Augmentation?

Home/Blog / How Old Is Too Old for Breast Augmentation?

Patients in their 50s, 60s, and 70s often wonder if their age makes them ineligible for breast augmentation. According to our experienced plastic surgeon, however, there is technically no age restriction for this procedure. Rather, candidacy for breast augmentation – as well as other breast enhancement surgeries – will depend on the patient’s overall health.

Serious medical issues (i.e., infections or illnesses) not only pose potential safety concerns for breast augmentation patients, but may also affect the quality and longevity of the results.* In other words, while Dr. Houssock has successfully performed breast augmentation for healthy patients well into their 70s, she will decline to perform surgery on individuals with health conditions that could increase risks or compromise recovery. Her top priority is always the safety and well-being of her patients.

During your consultation, Dr. Houssock will work with you to create a customized treatment plan that makes you look and feel more youthful and revitalized. For instance, many patients eligible for breast augmentation opt to combine the procedure with a breast lift. Known as a breast lift with implants, these two procedures performed together can enhance volume and shape while elevating and repositioning the breasts on the chest wall.

Dr. Houssock is celebrated around the world for her ability to connect with patients and deliver their ideal cosmetic goals. She is excited to carefully review your medical history and help you make an informed decision about improving your appearance and confidence. If you are considering breast augmentation, we encourage you to schedule a consultation with Dr. Houssock!
